Proper care of your Princess T jewelry

Your jewelry can be polished with a soft cloth, or if necessary, cleaned with mild soap and water and gently dried with a soft cloth. While polishing or cleaning, take care not to apply too much pressure in one place as silver and other metals can bend.

You may also use a polishing cloth containing chemical cleaners, like the silver polishing cloth included with Princess T silver jewelry, to clean up silver parts that may show tarnishing. Gently rub the genuine silver parts only with the polishing cloth.

Never use a cloth containing chemicals on non-metal parts of the jewelry such as pearls, coral, amber, turquoise or beads and crystals with finishes on their surface, as these may become damaged by the chemicals contained in polishing cloths.

You may use a stronger liquid type metal tarnish remover only on silver parts if necessary. Use great care when using such liquids by using a tiny brush or cotton swab to apply the liquid only to the genuine metal parts so to avoid contact with materials that could be damaged (as explained above). Immediately flush with fresh water to remove all traces of the chemical liquids and then polish dry with a soft clean cloth. Never dip or immerse entirely into liquid tarnish removers any jewelry that is not made completely of silver.

Never use metal cleaners and tarnish removers (liquid or cloths) on other materials such as oxidized silver, brass, cameo, opal or emerald, etc.  Be sure to read all instructions for any cleaners or tarnish removers you intend to use carefully before using them and to use such chemicals for only the types of metals it specifies.

Salt water, chlorine in swimming pools, soap and perspiration take their toll on jewelry, especially parts made from silver. Wipe your jewelry often and gently with a soft cloth to keep it clean and free of these elements, which cause oxidization. Princess T recommends that you do not wear your jewelry while swimming or participating in other sports.  When not being worn, store you jewelry in the airtight plastic Ziploc bag included with purchase.  Tarnishing occurs by exposure to air, so the more you keep your jewelry sealed, the less tarnishing will occur.
